JHU has contracted Takeform as its official signage vendor. All signage requests will be fulfilled through Takeform to ensure consistency with university standards. Please adhere to the process below when ordering interior signage for your project. Project managers are to work directly with Takeform on all signage requests. Requests are not to go through a 3rd party contractor.

  • Stairs
  • Restrooms
  • Code-required Signage

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Collect building floorplan(s) with room numbers
    1. Get any relevant final floorplans after the design phase is complete
  2. Email Takeform your signage request and request an estimate
    1. Email the floorplan(s) to Sasha Gross at [email protected] and cc Ryan Jordan at [email protected]
    2. Sasha will email the project manager if any additional information is needed.
  3. Receive proposal from Takeform
    1. The project manager will review the proposal for accuracy and completeness
    2. The project manager will send the proposal to the P&A architect for review
    3. Once the proposal is approved, the project manager works with the contracting team to request the LOI (the WBS # will be needed)
    4. The project manager will send the Letter of Intent (LOI) to Takeform
  4. Takeform will submit the Signage Submittal Package to the project manager
    1. The signage package includes the location plans and a visual for each sign
    2. The project manager and P&A architect will review and send comments to Takeform
    3. Takeform will revise the signage package for final approval
  5. Project manager requests the purchase order (PO)
  6. Fabrication and Installation
    1. Takeform will have signs fabricated
    2. Takeform will work with a local vendor for installation and will coordinate an installation date with the project manager
