Maryland Hall cornice replacement project begins July 20
Construction on the Maryland Hall Low Roof Cornice Replacement Project is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 20, with contractor mobilization activities, including material deliveries and the installation of scaffolding along the building’s south and southeast elevations to provide access to the existing cornice.
Once scaffolding is in place, Phase One of the project will begin with the demolition of the existing cornice. Crews will then install new framing, repair existing framing as needed, and construct a new cornice and gutter system. As Phase One progresses, subsequent phases of the project will begin to maintain the overall construction schedule.
The project is expected to take approximately 12 weeks, with completion and contractor demobilization anticipated in mid-October.
During construction, temporary fencing will be installed to secure the work and material laydown areas. The project team will work to minimize disruptions and appreciates your patience and cooperation.
