Abatement fencing on BLC Plaza

As part of the Milton S. Eisenhower Library (MSEL) project, abatement fencing will be installed on the BLC Plaza to safely perform abatement work at the existing MSEL lightwell. The installation will take place on Wednesday, May 21, and Thursday, May 22, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fencing will remain in place for approximately two weeks, through June 5. While a portion of the south side of the BLC Plaza will be impacted, a 4-foot-wide pedestrian pathway will be maintained at all times.

Safety Measures:

  • Spotters will be stationed on site to assist and redirect pedestrian traffic.
  • Clear signage will be posted to indicate asbestos-related work
  • All abatement activities will be fully contained, with no risk of particle exposure or visibility of the work on the surrounding Quad.
