Life Sciences Building
Project Description
The Life Sciences Building (LSB) will establish a dynamic ecosystem for foundational biomedical research, centered around rapidly evolving technologies such as imaging, artificial intelligence, and genetics. These innovations are accelerating scientific discovery at an unprecedented pace.
Strategically located at the corner of Monument Street and Broadway, the 500,000 gross square feet building includes six floors of laboratory and convening space. It will serve as the central hub for:
- Six newly developed “scientific neighborhoods” that connect researchers working in related fields.
- Five “technology hubs” designed to help scientists harness emerging tools to advance biomedical research.
These neighborhoods and hubs—conceptualized and led by Johns Hopkins scientists—will evolve in tandem with the building’s construction.
