School of Medicine Entry Plaza: Modified access to Miller, Traylor, Ross, and Turner Buildings

The school of medicine’s entry plaza, at the corner of Monument Street and Rutland Avenue, is being updated to remove walls and create an open, green space for Johns Hopkins affiliates and residents of local neighborhoods who commute through the East Baltimore campus. Phase 2 of construction is scheduled to begin this Friday, April 25, and continue through late July.

Phase 2 will require modifications to access paths for the Miller, Traylor, Ross, and Turner buildings. Access will be provided as follows:

  • Miller: The Miller Building will continue to be accessible from the existing Broadway Street entrance. Access from Rutland Avenue will require entering the Ross Building, taking the elevators to the lower level, and then continuing to the Miller Building elevators.
  • Traylor, Ross, and Turner: The Traylor, Ross, and Turner buildings will continue to be accessible from Rutland Avenue using the Ross elevators.

Temporary directional signage will be installed to ensure occupants can find their way to each building. While the entrances to the buildings will not be accessible, all required emergency exit doors will remain operational.

Questions about the construction and planning should be directed to the Johns Hopkins Medicine Facilities Department.
