ADA curb ramps 1-15 upgrade at Homewood

Curb Ramps 1 – 8

Upgrades to the ADA curb ramps 1 – 8 in front of the Muller Building and the STScI parking garage will take place from Monday, Oct. 14 through Dec. 2024, weather permitting.

Minor traffic impediments will occur. Flaggers will be on-site to direct the flow of traffic. A portion of the Muller Building driveway will be blocked off. ADA parking and drop-off will still be available, as well as the loading dock.

Curb Ramps 9 – 15

Upgrades to the ADA curb ramps 9 – 15 located in the vicinity of the Jenkins-Mergenthaler Hall and Gilman Hall loading dock area is planned to take place Nov. 7 through Dec. 30, weather permitting.

The area where the work will take place provides ample space and will not impede the loading dock for deliveries. Work will start at 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily. As the project starts, there will be loud noise associated with the demolition of the existing curb ramps. Access to and from the Gilman Tunnel will remain open during construction. A construction flagger will be onsite to assist with pedestrian crossing. Due to the complexity of the location, logistics will change as curb ramps are completed. Vehicle and equipment staging has been identified on the logistics plans below.
